In this role, the Practice Advisor is an active participant in the collaborative development and interpretation of standards, guidelines and policies to increase awareness of legislation, regulations and standards governing the practice of nursing. This is a temporary position through to February 2020.


Your primary responsibilities

  • Coordinate member and stakeholder feedback via various forums to collaborate with team members in the development and revision of policy and interpretative documents
  • Develop and implement problem-based learning materials to support the application and interpretation of standards, guidelines and position statements in practice
  • Prepare case studies and other practice resources to support and increase understanding of existing standards, guidelines and policies
  • Develop nursing practice articles and interpretive documents to promote and maintain stakeholder awareness of legislation, regulation and regulatory policy
  • Develop and foster effective relationships with CARNA members in discussions about nursing practice through collaborative technology, distance and online learning
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement evaluation strategies for problem-based learning materials
  • Provide follow-up to member inquiries regarding regulatory policies

 

You possess

  • Four year undergraduate degree in nursing is required
  • Current CARNA member in good standing or eligible for registration
  • 5–6 years’ relevant experience, combination of clinical, administrative, education or research
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Health Professions Act and nursing profession regulation
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to foster collaborate relationships
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in the delivery of webinars, virtual meetings and the utilization of appropriate technology


This position works remotely and some travel may be required throughout Alberta.
