A full-time, permanent, Site Leader is being recruited to provide leadership to the Edmonton Chinatown Care Centre.
The Site Administrator will have the responsibility for delivering a 96-bed long-term care program in downtown Edmonton. With the support of an Executive Director, the Site Leader has a key role in creating an enriching environment where people find meaningful opportunity to live, work and volunteer. The Site Leader is the face of the organization and is effective in building relationships with residents and their families, staff, volunteers, community stakeholders and key contacts from Alberta Health Services.

Demonstrated Ability to Liaise with Alberta Health Services
You can work effectively with AHS contacts to ensure resident’s needs are at all times being met.
Strong ability to connect with internal and external stakeholders
You are equally comfortable having coffee with a resident as you are being responsive to the needs of the community. You will build strong connections amidst a complex health environment, and will leverage those connections when needed.
You will be the spokesperson for the Care Centre when working with community groups.
Commitment to Quality & Safety
You will be expected to provide quality care and to work collaboratively internally and externally to measure that care. You will be comfortable gathering and analyzing data, and will use that data to ensure we provide an exceptional level of care, and to ensure we meet all applicable standards (accreditation, accommodation etc.).
You will exhibit and encourage within the site(s) a resident safety culture and commitment to continuous quality improvement
Ensure safe, quality care and service is being delivered by monitoring key performance and quality measures
Identify, lead and champion opportunities for improvement including quality and/or process improvement
Strong financial acumen & resource management
You will be responsible for a $8 Million operating budget. We want someone who has demonstrated an ability to steward resources entrusted to the Foundation. You don’t need to be an accountant but must be able to manage a budget, monitor financial performance and converse intelligently with financial analysts.
The ideal candidate will possess:
A passion and commitment to seniors and a thorough understanding of resident centered care.
Proven leadership experience.
Skilled at engaging employees.
Proven business acumen with a strong demonstrated social/community service orientation. Able to make quality business decisions and generate results.
Experience with all facets of Human Resources, including recruitment, training, performance management of employees and working within a unionized environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with other partners and within the larger healthcare system.
A passion and commitment to seniors care
A willingness to learn and understand Chinese cultural traditions and how it views aging and the role of elders.
Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin is an asset but not required.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Undergraduate or Master’s degree in health care or business desirable.
Certificates in Geriatric Care/Gerontology, Mental Health and Palliative Care are desirable.
5+ years of leadership experience in a health-related environment including supervision of professional and unregulated care staff.
Experience in care of the elderly and dementia care.
