The University’s Faculty of Nursing includes the Department of Nursing Science, the Department of Psychiatric Nursing, and the Department of Interprofessional Nursing Education and Simulation Learning (DIESL).

DIESL is dedicated to serving front-line multidisciplinary practitioners who strive to improve the health and quality of life for individuals, communities and industries. This department brings together the Centre for Professional Nursing Education and the Clinical Simulation Centre to deliver innovative academic programming. We are leaders in simulation-based learning and continuing education for nurses and other health care professionals.

Applications are invited for a full-time Laboratory Supervisor (2-year limited term), commencing July 1, 2019. The primary role of the Laboratory Supervisor will be to support laboratory learning for students enrolled in Faculty of Nursing programs. This includes, but is not limited to, the BScN, DPN, and RN Refresher programs. Responsibilities include an annual instructional assignment, nursing student practice support and nursing student remediation. This position requires an individual who possesses the nursing theoretical knowledge, experience and organizational skills necessary to create a positive and responsive learning environment for students and other faculty members. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of acute care clinical experience and, ideally, 3 years of post-secondary teaching experience. Strong organization and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as a team member, are required. Candidates should possess enthusiasm for teaching, and a commitment to supporting and facilitating success of student learning. Minimally, candidates must have an undergraduate degree in nursing and active licensure with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
