Position Summary:

This Temporary Part Time position at our Glenmore Park is part of a dynamic inter-professional team, the person in this role is responsible for case management/prime therapy of up to 5 older adult clients with a primary mental health diagnosis, often with complex medical needs; for creating strong therapeutic relationships with clients in individual as well as group therapies; for facilitating family systems interviews; for performing ongoing mental health and risk assessments; for performing physical assessments and appropriate interventions to improve/maintain clients’ health status; for administering medications.

  • 62h bi-weekly / temp end date June 1, 2020
  • Hours of Work 0700-1515; days off per rotation

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Experience with group facilitation, older adults, and mental health programs key assets
  •  Graduation from a recognized Nursing program; BScN / BN preferred; CNA certification an asset
  •  Must hold current CARNA/CRPNA registration
  •  Strong oral and written communication required Demonstrated leadership experience

Program Summary:

Geriatric Mental Health Program – a short-stay program for seniors who have primary psychiatric disorders who require assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to be able to return to the community. This is a voluntary program for those who are struggling with mental health conditions and who need more time for rehabilitation, improvement in their mental health and overall functioning.
